Another excerpt from the lengthy “Octoccata” today, and this time I have chosen to feature the reprise of the main theme which starts a little before the eight-minute mark.
The beginning of this segment is definitely inspired by the mid-section of Gentle Giant’s “Proclamation” as the various instruments progressively recreate the theme starting from fragmentary parts :
